crime and the media

I have watched a few horror/gangster films such as the texas chainsaw massacre and 8mile. i wanted to see whether these would show any signs that they could easily influence people to commit crime. i also watched sky cops where teenagers were the main people portrayed, perhaps stereotyping that teens are the worst for crime. i also watched crimewatch, many cases on the show, in the past there has been things taken from films such as a burglar with a sheep mask, similar to the pigs mask on saw.
